It can take a lot to be willing to be seen for who we are, to accept ourselves and what we really want, and to stand tall in the light. And it begins here, in Rumi’s field, out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing that we’ve grown up believing to be the only truth. If there is something you really want, so much that you’re almost too scared to have it, make that your priority in 2019.
2018 is a #11 year in numerology, a master number. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an intense year for you, if it shook your beliefs and made you see yourself and the people around you in a new light. It was a year that brought me a lot of travel, and some big leaps in learning to let go of the past, to dream and to fully receive.
From when we were babies, our whole lives are centred on achieving stability—when life itself is in constant flux. This year, I realised I was attached to an idea of my perfect life—who would be with me, what I’d be doing—and when that got shaken up, I found to my relief that I didn’t need anyone or anything to be a certain way. I just needed to keep listening to myself and to the present moment; to keep open my heart, my mind, my hands.
At the year’s close, as we look back on the person we were and we dream ourselves into who we want to be, may we be gentle, may we be true, may our hearts be light.
